Aaron Batchelor Jailed for Sexual Chats with Undercover Police Officer

A registered sex offender has been jailed for engaging in sexual conversations with what he believed to be a 14-year-old boy.

Aaron Batchelor, 29, of Wootton Avenue, Fletton, Peterborough, sent messages on Snapchat and WhatsApp between June 5 and July 3 of this year. The recipient was actually an undercover police officer.

Batchelor was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison at Cambridge Crown Court on Friday (December 20). He pleaded guilty to attempting to engage in sexual communications with a child, as well as three counts of breaching, and two attempted breaches, of a sexual harm prevention order.
