Shop Worker Jailed for Sexual Assault

A shop worker has been jailed for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl on her birthday. Ahmed Khalio, who worked at a convenience store in Norris Green, Liverpool, was found guilty of four counts of sexual assault.

The court heard that Khalio followed the girl, who was still wearing her school uniform, as she approached the till and touched her bottom. He then pressed his body against her and touched her legs and thighs over her underwear.

The incident lasted for several minutes and only ended when another customer entered the store. The girl was left "scared and in shock" and reported the attack to the police.

Khalio, a married man with an 11-month-old son, has no previous convictions. He claimed he was "just messing around" and denied the assault.

The judge sentenced Khalio to six months in prison and handed him a seven-year notification requirement and a restraining order.

Judge Andrew Menary KC said Khalio "took advantage of the fact she was alone" and his behavior was "outrageous".
