Teenager Alan Mohammed Hoards Sick Images of Children and Animals

A teenager in Newport, Wales, has been sentenced for possessing hundreds of indecent images of children and animals.

Alan Mohammed, 18, pleaded guilty to possessing 251 Category A images (the most serious type), 52 Category B images, and 16 Category C images. He also admitted possessing 41 prohibited non-photographic images of children and six extreme images depicting bestiality.

The offenses took place between December 2022 and March 2024. At Newport Crown Court, Judge Celia Hughes sentenced Mohammed to 30 weeks in a young offender institution, suspended for 12 months. He was also ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work, 26 rehabilitation activity sessions, pay £200 in prosecution costs and a £41 victim services surcharge.

Mohammed must register as a sex offender for the next seven years, and his computer containing the illicit images was destroyed.
