Kettering Paedophile Jailed for Filming Children
A Kettering man has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for secretly filming children with hidden cameras and possessing indecent images.
Antony Easton, 41, was arrested in late 2019 after police investigated child abuse images uploaded to the internet. Officers traced the images to Easton's home and discovered he had used hidden cameras to secretly film children.
Easton, formerly of Northumberland Close, pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent photographs of children and three offences of voyeurism at Northampton Crown Court in December 2022.
Detective Constable Caroline Knight, of Northamptonshire Police's Online Child Abuse Investigation Unit, called Easton a "dangerous sexual predator". She stated, "After we were made aware of an upload of illegal images, we made checks that identified the IP address involved, which led to the arrest of Antony Easton. When we examined his electronic devices, it became clear he had also been involved in making what are known as first-generation images, which he had obtained by using hidden devices."
In addition to his prison sentence, Easton was placed on the sex offender register for eight years and was made subject to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order. He was also ordered to pay a £140 victim surcharge, and three electronic devices seized by police were destroyed.
