Ashley Lamptey Jailed for 17 Years for Sexual Offences Against Child

Ashley Lamptey, a 37-year-old man from Watling Avenue in Edgware, Middlesex, has been sentenced to 17 years in prison for committing multiple sexual offences against a child.

Lamptey was found guilty of two counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault by penetration, and one count of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. These offenses occurred between 2020 and 2021 while Lamptey resided in Dereham.

The victim, who was initially six years old when the abuse began, disclosed the abuse to her mother, leading to Lamptey's arrest. Following a thorough investigation, he faced trial at Norwich Crown Court in April of this year, where he was unanimously convicted.

Judge Katharine Moore, during sentencing, described Lamptey as a dangerous offender who poses a significant risk to both members of the public and children. The court recognized the severe psychological harm inflicted upon the victim. In addition to the 17-year prison sentence, Lamptey will serve an extended five-year license period.

He has been placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life and is subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
