Rapist Aziz Khan Jailed for Filming and Sharing Assault

Aziz Khan, 22, has been sentenced to 11 years and two months in prison for raping a "drunk and incapable" student at his parents' home in Stoke-on-Trent. Khan filmed the assault on his mobile phone and later shared the footage online.

Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard that Khan, described as having "sex on his mind" and being "a bit weird around women," took advantage of the victim after she became separated from her friends while out in Newcastle.

Despite the victim being unconscious, Khan forced himself on her and filmed the assault, later bragging about the sexual "conquest" to his friends.

The victim, a Staffordshire University student, left Khan's house at 4am and sought help from a neighbor, before returning to her friends' house. The next day, Khan showed his friend the video of the rape and boasted about it.

The victim, who has no memory of the assault, later learned of the video, which had been uploaded to Snapchat. The court heard that the incident has had a devastating impact on her life, leading to her leaving university, experiencing profound fatigue, flashbacks, and feelings of shame and anger.

Khan pleaded guilty to rape and disclosing private sexual photos or films with intent to cause distress. Judge David Fletcher described Khan's actions as "callous and cowardly" and imposed an indefinite restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim or her parents.

Khan was also placed on the sex offenders register for the rest of his life.
