Man Jailed for Sexually Exploiting Teenage Girls on Snapchat

Belal Hussain, 34, has been sentenced to three years and six months in prison for sexually exploiting two 15-year-old girls he met through Snapchat.

Hussain contacted the first girl in June 2022, meeting her in his car in West Bromwich. Later that month, he saw both girls and pressured them into sexual activity, giving them money afterward.

The girls, who described their experiences as traumatic, confided in specialist officers from West Midlands Police. Police quickly identified Hussain through his Snapchat account and arrested him in September 2022.

Despite Hussain's refusal to cooperate with the investigation and provide passwords for his devices, officers gathered evidence and charged him with two counts of sexual activity with a child.

At Wolverhampton Crown Court, Hussain pleaded guilty to the charges. In addition to his prison sentence, he was given a sexual harm prevention order and will be on the sex offender register for life.

Investigating officer PC Adrian Jackson stated, "This horrific exploitation and grooming of two teenage girls has had a devastating effect, with one of the girls attempting to take her own life. I'm relieved that she pulled through and even had the strength to speak out against the man who assaulted her, but I know the lifelong impact his actions will have had."

It was down to their courage in coming forward that we were able to convict Hussain, and we hope this will provide some sense of justice following their traumatic ordeals."
