Man Jailed for Eight Years After Sexual Assault in Crewe

Brandon Bentley, 26, was sentenced to eight years in prison at Chester Crown Court on Friday 23 February for sexually assaulting a woman in Crewe.

Bentley was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault, attempted rape, and digital penetration following a trial. The court heard that on the evening of Sunday 14 November 2021, Bentley had asked the victim to go out with him.

They stayed in his car until the early hours of the morning, when the victim became tired and requested to go home. As she approached her front door, Bentley followed her and forced his way inside despite her attempts to close the door.

He then grabbed the victim and attempted to kiss her. When she resisted, he pushed her onto the bed and sexually assaulted her despite her pleas to stop.

Before leaving the address, Bentley pushed the victim against the wall and sexually assaulted her again.

Following questioning, Bentley was charged with attempted rape, two counts of sexual assault, and causing a female to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity.

In addition to the prison sentence, Bentley was ordered to sign the sex offenders register and was handed an indefinite restraining order against the victim.
