Hythe Man Jailed for Sexual Assault
A Hythe man has been sentenced to 20 months in prison for sexually assaulting an underage girl.
Brandon Foss, 20, of Butts Ash Gardens, admitted to seven counts of sexual activity with a child, which occurred between May and June of last year. The victim, who was under 16 years of age, was commended for her bravery by police.
PC Robert Thomas, the lead investigator, praised the victim's courage in coming forward. "It took a lot of courage and bravery for the victim to come forward and make these disclosures to us," he said. "I have nothing but the greatest admiration for this young lady, who fully supported our investigation and remained confident in our ability to get a conviction in court."
Thomas expressed relief that justice had been served. "I am so pleased for her that justice has now been served in this case, and that she has now seen Foss put behind bars, where he belongs," he stated. "He abused her for his own sexual gratification, and must now serve time in prison, where he will have to reflect upon his crimes."
While acknowledging that the conviction may not erase the victim's memories, Thomas expressed hope for her future. "While I know this result won't rid the victim of the memories of what he did to her, I truly hope it allows her to move forward with her life, safe in the knowledge that he can no longer harm anyone else," he added.
In addition to the sexual assault charges, Foss also pleaded guilty to one count of possessing class B drug, cannabis. He was sentenced to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order, which restricts his activities to prevent future offenses.
Foss was also ordered to pay £167 in court charges.
