Winsford Man Brandon Parton Jailed For Attempted Child Sex Abuse

A Winsford man was sentenced to 40 months in prison for attempting to lure who he believed to be an 11-year-old girl into having sex with him.

Brandon Parton, of Tighe Avenue, engaged in several sexually explicit conversations online with ‘Louise’, an undercover decoy, between March 30 and April 7, 2023. He made numerous requests for inappropriate images and attempted to arrange a meeting for sexual purposes.

On Friday, April 7, 2023, police were alerted to Parton’s activities by paedophile hunters who confronted him at an address in Sandbach. Evidence including messages between Parton and the decoy was handed over to law enforcement, leading to his immediate arrest.

Parton initially denied the charges of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, attempting to facilitate the sexual assault of a child, and attempting to incite a female child aged under 13 to engage in sexual activity. However, on January 30, 2024, he pleaded guilty to all counts.

Sentencing Parton at Chester Crown Court on April 1, 2024, Judge Simon Berkson imposed a 40-month prison sentence. In addition, Parton was issued with a 15-year Sexual Harm Protection Order (SHPO) prohibiting him from being alone with any female children under 16, except in specific circumstances.

He is also required to register as a sex offender for the duration of the order and has been banned from using computers with internet access unless they are registered with the police.
