Brandon Tyler Sentenced to Five Years for Sharing Deep Fake Intimate Images

Brandon Tyler, a 26-year-old from Railway Street in Braintree, Essex, has been sentenced to five years in prison for sharing intimate images of women online, many of which were manipulated using deep fake technology.

Tyler's arrest followed a report by a woman who discovered an intimate photo of herself posted on an online forum without her consent. Police investigations revealed that Tyler had uploaded numerous other images, both genuine and deep-faked, depicting various women in compromising positions.

Between March 2023 and May 2024, Tyler's user account posted 173 times, many featuring images taken from the victims' social media profiles and altered to appear as if they were naked. Other images shared without consent remained unaltered.

Tyler declined to comment during police interviews but was charged with 15 counts of sharing intimate photographs or films for sexual gratification and 18 counts of harassment without violence. He pleaded guilty to all 33 charges at Colchester Magistrates Court.

In addition to his prison sentence, Tyler is registered as a sex offender and faces an indefinite restraining order against his victims.
