Letchworth Paedophile Jailed for Child Sex Offences

A Letchworth man, Brian Melabiankis, has been sentenced to 29 months in prison for multiple child sex offences. The 25-year-old, formerly of Marmet Avenue, pleaded guilty to 19 charges at St Albans Crown Court on Monday.

The court heard that Melabiankis committed a number of child sex abuse offences between October and December 2017. These included making and distributing indecent images of children.

The charges against Melabiankis include:

• Seven counts of distribution of indecent images
• Nine counts of making indecent images
• Two counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child
• One count of engaging in sexual communication with a child

Melabiankis has also been added to the sex offenders register for 10 years.
