Repeatedly assaulting 9 year old her and texting her vile messages.
A 25-year-old man has been jailed for two years after confessing to molesting a nine-year-old girl. Calum Adams, of East Kilbride, Lanarkshire, was caught after his victim told her mother about the abuse.
The girl bravely showed her mother sickening messages Adams had sent her, in which he admitted to the abuse and expressed remorse.
Adams first met the girl when she was just four years old, but over time subjected her to repeated sexual assaults.
He was sentenced at Hamilton Sheriff Court after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting the girl between August and October last year.
Adams also admitted to intentionally sending the girl messages of a sexual nature.
Sheriff Thomas Millar ordered Adams to be kept on the Sex Offenders' Register for 10 years.
The court heard that Adams contacted the girl's mother by text after she confronted him. In the messages, he said he hated paedophiles and now hated himself for becoming one.
Adams has been disowned by his family and is deemed a low risk of re-offending in the future.
Sheriff Millar told Adams that he needed to get help for his actions and that he should recognize the serious nature of his offenses.
