Sex Predator's Sentence Reduced: Judges Slash Jail Time for Rapist

Chiron Hutchinson, a 20-year-old from Uckfield, East Sussex, was originally sentenced to 20 years in prison with an additional eight years on license after being convicted of multiple sexual offenses. He admitted to sexual activity with a child and was convicted of raping three women.

The Appeal Court judges, however, have reduced Hutchinson's sentence, citing his age, lack of prior convictions, and the relatively short duration of his offending.

The court heard how Hutchinson had exploited vulnerable young women, often intoxicated or under the influence of drugs, to commit his crimes. He was described by the sentencing judge as a "manipulative, deceitful individual, obsessed with sex," who had "prolifically viewed pornography" and used the search term "forced sex."

Despite Hutchinson's defense arguing that he was simply an "opportunistic young man with a lack of understanding of sexual boundaries," the court upheld the finding that he was a dangerous sexual predator, albeit reducing his sentence.

Hutchinson's sentence has been reduced to 16 years in prison with an extended licence period of four years.
