Christopher Elliott

Age: 45

Town: Waterlooville

Convicted: 11/03/2020

Sex offender who carried out 'serious' crimes breached registration requirements.

Man Sentenced for Failing to Register as a Sex Offender

Christopher Elliott, 41, of Laburnum Road, Waterlooville, was sentenced to prison in 2001 and required to register as a sex offender. However, he failed to update his address with the police after moving, a violation of his notification requirements.

According to Portsmouth Magistrates Court, Elliott was required to register by November 7, 2022, but did not do so until November 9. He attempted to register at Havant station, which was closed, and then went to Waterlooville station, also closed.

Elliott then went to Havant station again where he was directed to the Eastern Police Investigation Centre in Copnor. However, he felt too embarrassed to register as the waiting area was full and returned another day, which was too late.

Elliott pleaded guilty to breaching notification requirements and was ordered by District Judge Gary Lucie to pay £197 in costs and charges.
