Serial offender repeatedly raped a girl when she was a young child.

Paedophile's Prison Sentence Extended for Abusing Two Girls

Christopher Hendy, 52, has had his prison sentence extended by two years for repeatedly raping a girl when she was a young child. The abuse took place in the 1980s, with Hendy forcing the victim to perform sexual acts on him and telling her to keep it a secret.

Hendy also admitted to abusing another young girl by touching her sexually on a single occasion. Both victims came forward after reading about Hendy's previous convictions in 2015, when he was sentenced to 22 years for 21 offenses, including 12 counts of raping children.

The court heard that Hendy, who was a teenager at the time of the abuse, would look at pornography before abusing his victim. He would tell her she was a "special girl" and that their abuse was a "little secret".

In a statement, one of Hendy's victims said: "I am not scared of you and what you did." Both victims have undergone counseling and suffer from stress, depression, and anxiety as a result of their ordeals.

Hendy, who showed no emotion during sentencing, will be starting a course in prison to help with victim empathy. His lawyer argued that a long sentence would "utterly crush" him, but Judge Susan Evans said: "No child should feel ashamed at being abused."

If the offenses had been dealt with in 2015, Hendy would have received an eight-and-a-half-year sentence, but the judge was limited by her sentencing powers.
