Man Jailed for Nine Years for Child Sexual Assaults

A 38-year-old man, Christopher Holdsworth, has been sentenced to nine years and six months in prison after admitting to multiple serious sexual assaults against a child.

Holdsworth appeared at Bradford Crown Court via video link from HMP Leeds, where he heard a powerful statement read by his victim. The statement described how the victim's life had been "ruined" by the assaults.

Despite being confronted about his actions, Holdsworth initially denied any wrongdoing and threatened violence against those who accused him, claiming they were "spitting out lies."

His Honour Judge Colin Burn sentenced Holdsworth to the lengthy prison term, placing him on the sex offender's register for life. An indefinite restraining order was also imposed, prohibiting any contact with the victim. A sexual harm prevention order will be determined at a later date.
