Court Case Update
A defendant, Christopher Kenneth Wear, was recently brought before the court for violating a previously imposed sexual harm prevention order.
Wear, a 34-year-old resident of Waterlooville, Hampshire, was initially subjected to the order in 2017 after admitting to charges related to the creation and possession of indecent images of children.
The recent charges stem from Wear's alleged use of social networking platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, in violation of the court order. He was also found to be in possession of an internet-enabled iPhone, further breaching the terms of his restriction.
The offences are reported to have taken place in Dalton on February 12. Wear has pleaded guilty to two counts of breaking the order and is scheduled to be sentenced at Preston Crown Court on February 12.
Wear appeared in court via video link and has been granted bail pending the sentencing hearing. The original prevention order was issued at Preston Crown Court in 2017 following his conviction for the creation and possession of indecent images of children.
