Dale Goll

Age: 58

Town: Evesham

Convicted: 22/12/2016

Garden nursery owner found with extreme pornographic bestiality images showing adults involved in sex acts with horses and dogs.

Dale Goll, a 51-year-old plant nursery owner from Pitchill, near Alcester, has been sentenced to 12 months in prison for possessing child pornography. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for 10 years.

Goll pleaded guilty to three charges of making indecent images of children, one of possessing images of extreme pornography, and one of possessing prohibited images of children. The images found on Goll's devices included 27 category A images, the most serious category, showing children being subjected to sexual activity.

The court heard that Goll had been downloading the images for several years, using peer-to-peer file-sharing software. He admitted that he knew what he was doing was wrong, but said he was addicted to it.

Goll's defense attorney argued for a suspended sentence, stating that Goll's business would struggle without him. However, the judge rejected this argument, stating that the seriousness of the offenses warranted an immediate sentence.

"You knew at the time it was wrong," Judge Sylvia de Bertodano said to Goll. "The reason it is so serious is that although it may not seem like it when you're sitting in front of your computer, these are real children being abused."

"If there was not a market for them, these children would likely not be being abused in this way – and the market for them is people like you," the judge added.
