Man Jailed for Sexual Assault of Child

A 39-year-old man, Daniel Brinksman, has been sentenced to 25 months in prison for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy.

Brinksman, who has no fixed address, pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual activity with a child at Chester Crown Court on August 29th.

The court heard that Brinksman met the victim on the dating app Grindr in 2015. The boy, who was struggling with his sexuality, was in a vulnerable state when he joined the app.

Brinksman, after striking up a conversation with the victim, pressured him into meeting at a park in Northwich that same day. During the meeting, Brinksman sexually assaulted the victim, leaving him traumatized.

In addition to his prison sentence, Brinksman was also given a restraining order prohibiting him from contacting the victim and an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
