Man Jailed for Sexual Activity with Child

A 30-year-old man, Daniel Lee Coleman, has been sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison for engaging in sexual activity with a child.

Coleman, of Rydal Street, Carlisle, pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual activity with a child under 16. The offences took place between late 2013 and early 2014.

Judge Peter Hughes QC, presiding at Carlisle Crown Court, handed down the prison sentence. Coleman is now subject to a sexual harm prevention order and has been placed on the sex offenders' register indefinitely.

Coleman's case will also be reported to independent safeguarding authorities.
