Pervert who sent sexual images to who he thought was a 12-year-old boy was caught with photos of children as young as eight.

Man Arrested for Sending Sexual Images to Undercover Officer Posing as Child

Daniel Neary, 41, was arrested after attempting to engage in sexually explicit conversations with what he believed was a 12-year-old boy named Rory on a dating website. However, the profile was actually operated by an undercover police officer.

During a search of Neary's residence, police discovered explicit images of children as young as eight, along with search terms related to indecent images.

Neary pleaded guilty to the charges of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and possessing indecent photographs of children. His defense argued for rehabilitation, emphasizing his lack of prior offenses.

The judge, while acknowledging Neary's lack of prior offenses, expressed concern about his evident sexual interest in children and his encouragement of a child to engage in sexual activities for his own gratification.

Despite the severity of the offenses, the judge decided to suspend Neary's ten-month prison sentence for two years. This suspension is contingent upon Neary's participation in rehabilitation programs and completion of unpaid work. Additionally, Neary will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and notification requirements for the next ten years.
