Darnell McCollins Jailed for Sexually Assaulting Two Girls Outside Court

Darnell McCollins, 24, has been sentenced to an additional 23 weeks imprisonment for sexually assaulting two teenage girls outside Stafford Crown Court in June 2022.

McCollins approached the girls near the court where he was on trial for drug dealing. He began asking them questions and touched both of them before they walked away and reported the incident. Police arrested McCollins the following day, but he denied committing the offences during questioning.

He pleaded guilty to sexual assault on a female at an earlier hearing and was sentenced on March 11, 2023, at Cannock Magistrates' Court. This sentence will run consecutively to a three-and-a-half-year sentence he is currently serving for conspiring to supply heroin and crack cocaine.

McCollins has been placed on the Sex Offender Register for seven years, issued with a restraining order against the victims, and ordered to pay £604 in costs. DI Emma Roach from Staffordshire Police stated: "We're determined to deliver justice for victims of sexual crimes in Staffordshire and to act robustly against those responsible."
