Man Jailed for Rape in Gosport

Darren House, 46, of Whiteacres Close in Gosport, was sentenced yesterday at Portsmouth Crown Court for one count of rape and one count of assault by penetration.

The incident occurred in Gosport on 3 May 2023, involving a woman in her 40s. The victim provided a statement to the court, expressing her ongoing trauma.

"I literally think about this incident most days," she stated. "It makes me feel sick when I think about it. When I think about it, I get upset, I cry and shake. Even now. I feel humiliated and degraded by him. I have to live with this for the rest of my life."

House was sentenced to 13 years in prison for his crimes.
