Man Jailed for Hoarding Over 500,000 Indecent Images of Children

David Allison, a former teacher from Ottershaw, has been sentenced to three years in prison for possessing over half a million indecent images of children. The images, recovered from Allison's computer equipment, included some taken at a school, showing girls' underwear.

Allison pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent photos of a child, one count of taking images of a child, and two counts of voyeurism. The court heard that Allison had taken photos using a camera, camera pen, and his iPad. He was also found to have accessed a live streaming website, which he admitted was a line he shouldn't have crossed.

The prosecution stated that Allison had deliberately placed his iPad camera in a school setting to film girls getting changed. This was considered premeditated and opportunistic.

"He would put it in a camera bag with the camera poking out the top and leave it in a place where it could film in the school," said Lee Harris, prosecuting. "It was premeditated and the stills were opportunist. There was one picture in particular of a person getting changed in a school classroom."

Allison was described as being deeply ashamed and disgusted by his actions. He expressed regret for the impact his actions would have on those who had been positively influenced by him.

Judge Robert Fraser stated that Allison's actions were "very concerning," and that no one knew what he was doing. He sentenced Allison to three years in prison and issued a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), placing him on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
