Fife Man Avoids Jail for Sending Explicit Messages to Teenager

A married father of two from Fife, who identified himself as "Papa Smurf," has narrowly avoided a jail sentence after admitting to sending sexually explicit messages to a 15-year-old girl.

David Kidd pleaded guilty to sending the messages to the girl, whom he referred to as "Smurfette," in March of last year.

The court heard that the messages detailed a range of sexual acts.

While Kidd narrowly avoided a prison sentence, he received a community payback order and was placed on the sex offenders register.
