Sex offender caught on incognito mode watching incest porn.

David Llewellyn, a chef who was previously jailed for possessing indecent images of children, found himself back in court after being caught watching incest-themed pornography in incognito mode.

Llewellyn had been subject to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) prohibiting him from using incognito mode after his conviction in 2018. However, police paid him an unannounced visit on March 22 to check his compliance with the order and discovered he was using incognito mode on his phone.

Prosecutor Joshua Scouller told Cardiff Crown Court that when police officers arrived at Llewellyn's home, they immediately noticed the last site he had viewed on his Google browser was a porn site with incest titles. Although there was no suggestion the content involved indecent images of children, the fact that he was using incognito mode raised concerns.

Llewellyn, 36, admitted to breaching the SHPO, explaining that he had not intentionally put his phone in incognito mode. He also revealed that he had been using pornography for sexual gratification once every couple of weeks.

Defense attorney Paul Hewitt highlighted the challenges Llewellyn faced after his release from prison, including difficulties with family relationships and rebuilding his life. He also mentioned Llewellyn's long working hours as a trainee chef and his ongoing debt issues.

In passing sentence, the judge, Recorder IWL Jones, emphasized the seriousness of the breach and the warning Llewellyn had received after being cautioned in 2021. He acknowledged Llewellyn's remorse and his struggles with depression but stressed the potential consequences of his actions.

Llewellyn was sentenced to a two-year community order, including 100 hours of unpaid work and 15 days of rehabilitation activity. He was also ordered to pay £420 in prosecution costs and a statutory victim services surcharge within three months.
