Paedophile gave schoolgirl lager before having sex with her.

A man was sentenced to prison for sexually abusing a schoolgirl and engaging in controlling behavior with a woman.

David Morgan, 35, pleaded guilty to three counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child and to engaging in controlling and coercive behavior in an intimate relationship. He admitted to having sex with the girl on multiple occasions, including one instance where he gave her a can of Stella lager to drink before abusing her.

The court heard that Morgan's sexual offending occurred in 2019 and had a negative impact on the girl's mental health. The prosecution, Helen Randall, stated that the girl's mother reported a deterioration in her daughter's well-being.

Morgan's controlling behavior towards his partner involved isolating her from family and friends, accusing her of infidelity, forcing her to delete her email account, and effectively compelling her to abandon her small business.

During sentencing, Judge Paul Thomas KC expressed disgust at Morgan's claims of having no sexual interest in children. He stated that there is a word for people like Morgan – "paedophile" – and urged him to accept this fact.

Morgan was sentenced to five years and seven months in prison, with five years and three months for the sexual offending and four months for the coercive control. He will be a registered sex offender for the rest of his life.
