Former Police Officer Jailed Again for Breaching Sexual Harm Order

David Pamment, a former police officer for the Ministry of Defence, has been sentenced to nine months in prison for breaching his sexual harm prevention order. Pamment was initially jailed for eight months in March 2018 after being found with 31 indecent images of children, including 17 category A images.

As part of his sentence, Pamment was required to register any internet-enabled computer with the authorities within three days of purchase. However, during an unannounced visit to his Eastleigh home on October 4, 2018, police discovered a laptop in his living room that had not been registered.

The court heard that Pamment had been released from prison in July 2018 after serving half of his eight-month sentence. He had been twice taken through the terms of his sexual harm prevention order, which included the requirement to register computers.

Pamment pleaded guilty to one count of breaching his sexual harm prevention order at Southampton Crown Court. His 10-year sexual harm prevention order and 10-year notification requirements will remain in effect.
