Online predator jailed for enticing young girls to share indecent images

Dominic Woodcock, 20, has been sentenced to four years and eight months in prison for his crimes.

Woodcock used a fake online profile to pose as a 12-year-old girl and befriend young girls between 2021 and 2023. He claimed to be involved in a gymnastics club and encouraged girls, mainly aged 10 to 12, to pursue a career in the sport.

Once a rapport was established, Woodcock would request indecent images from the girls. He threatened to expose them on social media if they refused.

Authorities were alerted to Woodcock's actions and quickly identified and arrested him in Erdington. His phone was seized and found to contain disturbing images and messages.

Woodcock pleaded guilty to possession of indecent images and engaging children into sexual activity. He was sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court on April 3rd and placed on the sex offenders register for life.
