Fletcher Massey
Age: 23
Town: Hull
Convicted: 18/01/2022
Sexual predator forced teen to cook for him and strangled another while she was pregnant.
Fletcher Massey, a depraved sexual predator, was sentenced to 12 years and three months in prison for a series of shocking and violent offenses against five teenage girls and a woman.
Massey, 21, formerly of Newland Grove, Hull, admitted to nine offenses, including rape, sexual activity with a child, assault causing actual bodily harm, and intimidating a witness. His crimes spanned from June to September 2020.
The court heard that Massey had raped one girl and forced her to cook and clean for him. He sent threatening messages to another girl, including a knife emoji, and threatened to stab her in the face.
In other incidents, Massey assaulted a pregnant 16-year-old girl by grabbing her by the throat and squeezing her neck until she was dizzy. He also headbutted a 20-year-old woman in the face.
Massey's lawyer, Stephen Robinson, argued that his client had suffered a difficult childhood and had been placed in care. He described Massey's behavior as impulsive and emotionally immature, but expressed hope for his future.
Recorder Anthony Hawks, sentencing Massey, stated that he had committed "extremely serious offenses" but acknowledged his guilty plea. Massey was also given an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and must register as a sex offender for life.
Detective Sergeant Stu Fox, who led the investigation, described Massey as "an extremely callous, dangerous and perverted man who enjoys inflicting harm on young women for his own pleasure." He praised the bravery of the victims for coming forward and speaking out about the abuse they had suffered.
An NSPCC spokesperson said, "Massey's last-minute admission of this horrific campaign of abuse against four young girls may have spared them the distress of reliving their experiences in court but can never undo the devastation his repulsive actions caused."
