Man Jailed for Historical Sexual Offences Against Minors

Gavin Corcoran, 44, has been sentenced to 21 years in prison for multiple historical sexual offences committed against minors. The offences occurred in both the Swansea and Neath Port Talbot areas, as well as in Manchester.

Corcoran, who previously resided in Morriston, Swansea, was first reported to police in 2020 when a 14-year-old girl came forward to disclose that he had sexually assaulted her when she was 10 years old.

Following this report, two additional women came forward and revealed that Corcoran had sexually abused them on numerous occasions when they were children.

Corcoran was charged with the offences in 2021 and remanded into custody after failing to attend his trial later that year. He has remained in custody ever since.

In 2022, a fourth victim came forward to Greater Manchester Police, disclosing that Corcoran had sexually assaulted her. He was subsequently charged with two further offences related to this victim.

On May 21, 2024, Gavin Corcoran was found guilty on all eight counts of child sex offences against the four separate victims. He was sentenced today to 21 years in prison, with an extended sentence of four years. Corcoran will also be on the sex offenders register for life.
