Musselburgh Man Added to Sex Offenders Register for Child Abuse Images

Graham Brown, 61, from Musselburgh, has been placed on the sex offenders' register after pleading guilty to possessing child abuse images.

Brown was found to have downloaded 14 videos depicting children engaged in sexual activity, spanning a period of 10 months.

According to Fiscal depute Callum Thomson, police received intelligence about indecent images being downloaded at Brown's residence on Old Course Gate.

A search warrant was executed on August 30, 2021, and a laptop containing the videos was found on Brown's couch.

Cybercrime officers determined that 11 of the videos were classified as category A, the most severe, and three were classified as category B.

The analysis revealed that Brown had last viewed the videos on January 6, 2021.

Sheriff Chris Dickson deferred sentencing to next month, pending background reports, and placed Brown on the sex offenders' register.
