Sex Offender Jailed for Breaching Notification Requirements

Harry Agate, 28, was sentenced to one year and four months in prison at Cambridge Crown Court after pleading guilty to failing to comply with his notification requirements as a sex offender.

Agate was placed on the Sex Offenders Register in 2017, requiring him to notify police within three days of any changes to his circumstances, including his address.

On May 20, 2022, officers visited Agate's registered Peterborough address, only to be informed that he had moved out following an argument with his housemate.

Agate, who has no fixed abode, was apprehended and subsequently charged with the offense.

Detective Constable Faye Patterson, a specialist officer dedicated to managing sex offenders, stated: "Our MOSOVO officers are trained to ensure that offenders adhere to their requirements. This case demonstrates our commitment to bringing those who breach their orders before the courts."
