Child Sex Offender Jailed for Eight Years After Horrific Violence

Jason Robson, 47, of Grummock Avenue, Ramsgate, has been sentenced to eight years in prison for a string of horrific offenses against a child victim.

Robson subjected the victim to brutal violence, including forcing their head into a toilet, holding a knife to their throat, and pushing them down a flight of stairs. He also repeatedly punched and kicked the victim.

In addition to the physical abuse, Robson was found guilty of multiple child sex offenses. The historic crimes were reported to the police in June 2020, leading to Robson's arrest and subsequent charges.

Despite denying all allegations, Robson was convicted following a trial at Canterbury Crown Court. He was sentenced to eight years in prison on Tuesday.

DC Chris Radley, the investigating officer, commended the victim's courage in coming forward. "The victim in this case showed tremendous courage in coming forward to report the awful offenses committed against them," said Radley. "I would like to pay tribute to them for the dignity they have shown throughout, and for continuing to support the investigation even when Jason Robson refused to accept responsibility for his crimes and put the victim through the difficulty of a crown court trial."

Radley emphasized the lasting impact of Robson's actions. "Robson was responsible for a number of shocking offenses over a prolonged period that will no doubt affect the victim for the rest of their lives," he stated. "He thoroughly deserves the lengthy prison sentence he must now serve for the suffering they were put through at his hands."
