Police hunt missing beer-bellied sex offender.

Police are searching for a convicted child sex offender who has gone missing.

John Archer Barnett, 62, was last seen in Dover on April 14. He is believed to be travelling around the UK.

Barnett was convicted in 2003 for indecently assaulting an eight-year-old boy and sentenced to four years in prison.

He was released from prison but is now wanted for breaching the notification requirements under the Sexual Offences Act 2003 after failing to notify police of his new address.

Police are concerned that Barnett may befriend a family in order to offend. They believe he may have shaved his head and beard to disguise his appearance.

Barnett is described as white, about 5ft 8in tall, with a beer belly and grey, receding hair. He has eagle tattoos on both arms and may be wearing a hearing aid. He is a smoker and drinks whiskey. He also has an eczema-type skin condition on both forearms and hands. Police also said he suffered a stroke and one side of his face droops slightly.
