Man Jailed for 18 Years for Sexual Offenses in Hampshire

A 57-year-old man, John Cooper, has been sentenced to over 18 years in prison for a series of sexual offenses in the Ringwood area of Hampshire.

Cooper, of Hurst Road, pleaded guilty to 15 offenses that occurred between 2014 and 2015. These included assaults on two children under the age of 13.

Following a trial at Bournemouth Crown Court in January, Cooper was convicted of two further offenses, including the rape of a third female.

Hampshire Police commended the victims for their bravery throughout the investigation, stating that their courage had "stopped a dangerous offender."

Det Con Richard Chegwidden said, "These brave individuals have prevented others from coming to harm."

Cooper received a total sentence of 18 years and 9 months. His offenses included sexual assaults, taking indecent photos of a child, and inciting girls to engage in sexual activity.
