Child sex offender impersonated police to get NHS job back.
Former Norfolk Hospital Worker Jailed for Sex Offences
Jordan Ellis, 27, a former care assistant at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and a St John Ambulance volunteer, has been sentenced to two years and eight months in prison for a string of sexual offences.
Ellis was found guilty of attempting to incite three children under 13 to engage in sexual activity, sending images of his body parts, attempting sexual communication with two children he believed were 14 and 15, and making and distributing indecent images of children.
Police discovered evidence of Ellis's crimes after raiding his home and seizing his laptop and phone. They retrieved deleted data from online chats with profiles claiming to be children, including one where Ellis asked what he believed to be a 15-year-old girl if he could see her 10-year-old sister.
In a further attempt to conceal his crimes, Ellis impersonated a police officer by sending fraudulent emails to his former employer and St John Ambulance, claiming that no further action would be taken against him.
DC Amy Nunn, the officer investigating Ellis's crimes, stated, "This has been a complicated job with Ellis taking many steps to try and hide his offending. The predatory nature of this individual has been exposed and the risk he poses to children can now be managed."
St John Ambulance confirmed that Ellis had been suspended as a volunteer upon his arrest and subsequently dismissed after pleading guilty to his crimes. A spokesperson for the charity expressed their horror at Ellis's actions and offered their support to anyone affected.
