Man Jailed for Raping Girl He Groomed Online

Jordan Morgan, 29, has been sentenced to prison for raping a young girl he groomed online. He initially lied to the victim, claiming to be 15 years old, before arranging to meet her in Preston, Lancashire.

On May 14th, Morgan took the victim to woods off Banbury Drive and committed the sexual assault. He was subsequently identified through mobile phone and social media analysis by Lancashire Police.

CCTV footage, clothing recovered from Morgan's home, and DNA evidence found on an apple juice bottle at the scene all linked him to the crime. Morgan pleaded guilty to rape and grooming charges in Preston Crown Court.

PC Koryann Stevens stated that Morgan's actions demonstrate a clear and present danger to children. "He is clearly someone who presents a very real danger to children by his perverted sexual interests and calculated and planned behaviour," Stevens said.

Morgan was sentenced to a lengthy prison term and subjected to a sexual harm prevention order. He is also required to register as a sex offender for life.
