Man Pleads Guilty to Child Pornography Charges

Karl Davison, 33, of Chillingham Road, Heaton, pleaded guilty to three counts of making an indecent image of a child at Newcastle Magistrates' Court.

The court heard that Davison had found himself in online groups where he was sent disturbing material. Despite deleting some of the images, 44 sick photos and videos were still found on his phone.

These included 23 category A images and films, the most serious type, depicting penetrative sexual activity. Davison also had 22 category B and one category C images.

Prosecutor Rob Lawson stated that the aggravating factors were the ages of the children involved, ranging from six to 14, and the distress evident in one of the videos.

Defense attorney Mark Humble argued that Davison had not intentionally sought out the images and had deleted some of them. However, the images remained on his phone.

The case was adjourned for the preparation of a pre-sentence report. Davison was released on unconditional bail and must sign the Sex Offenders' Register. He will appear in court again on February 22.
