Karl Davison Sentenced to 24 Years for Sexual Offences Against Children

Karl Davison, a 43-year-old man from Wakefield, has been sentenced to 24 years in prison for a series of sexual offences against children.

Davison targeted five young female victims, aged between 10 and 15, between August 6th and 7th last year. He approached his victims on an electric scooter, engaging them in conversation or allowing them to ride it before assaulting them. The offences took place in Thorpe, Middleton, and Belle Isle, Leeds.

Davison was apprehended after officers on patrol in Lofthouse stopped a man matching his description early on August 8th. Despite providing false information, Davison was quickly identified and arrested. A search of his home uncovered a mobile phone containing a substantial amount of explicit images of children. He subsequently pleaded guilty to possessing indecent images of children.

At Leeds Crown Court in February, Davison was convicted of three counts of sexual touching on a child under 13, one count of assault by penetration on a child under 13, and one count of sexual assault on a child under 16. He was sentenced today (April 8th) to 24 years, comprising 17 years in prison and a seven-year extended license period.

Davison is also subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, prohibiting him from entering specific areas of Wakefield and Leeds. He will remain on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
