Paedophile Voyeur Jailed for Indecent Images and Voyeurism

A paedophile voyeur, Kyle Spires (35), has been sentenced to two years and four months in prison for a series of offenses related to indecent images of children and voyeurism.

Police were alerted in August 2021 that Spires had uploaded an indecent image of a child online the previous June. He was arrested in January 2022 and a mobile phone was seized, containing covert footage of a child filmed by Spires. The phone also held 359 images and three videos of a woman, captured without her knowledge.

Spires was rearrested and another phone was seized. Despite repeated court orders, he refused to provide login details for this device. He also failed to comply with Sex Offenders Register requirements, including informing police of stays at properties with under-18s and updating his address within three days of moving.

At Peterborough Crown Court on December 1st, Spires pleaded guilty to taking an indecent photograph of a child, voyeurism, making an indecent photograph of a child, failing to comply with a Section 49 Notice to disclose protected information, failing to comply with Sex Offender Register notification requirements, and possession of an offensive weapon (a knuckleduster) in public.

In addition to the prison sentence, Spires was also given a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Detective Sergeant George Neal commented, "Spires is clearly a danger to women and children, and I am pleased he has faced justice. His arrogance and disregard for the law during this investigation have been appalling."
