Lee Kneller Sentenced for Robbery and Sexual Assault
Lee Alan Kneller, 39, of Chaffinch Green, Waterlooville appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court on Friday 7 February and was sentenced to eight and a half years imprisonment for robbery and sexual assault. The charges stem from an incident on Saturday 8 June 2024, where Kneller entered the home of a woman in her 40s who was working as a carer.
Kneller falsely claimed he needed to use the bathroom before pushing past the woman into the residence. Despite her request for him to leave, Kneller proceeded to sexually assault the woman and demand money. He then stole her handbag and fled the scene.
Havant and East Hants Criminal Investigations Department launched an immediate investigation. Through CCTV enquiries and a public appeal for information, Kneller was quickly identified and arrested the same day.
Kneller pleaded guilty to both robbery and sexual assault. In addition to his prison sentence, he was ordered to sign the sex offenders register indefinitely.
"I am very happy to see Lee Kneller face justice for his crimes and would like to thank the public for their assistance in helping us get him off of the streets as swiftly as possible," said DC Ashlee Wait, the officer in charge of the case. "Kneller's crimes against a woman who was simply doing her job are horrendous, and I am glad to see him put behind bars. No one should feel unsafe in their place of work and I commend the victim highly for coming forward and helping us prevent Kneller from attacking anyone else."
