Sexually abused a young girl and used social media to sexually exploit another child.

Man Jailed for Sexually Abusing Young Girl and Exploiting Child Online

Lewis Green, 22, has been sentenced to 27 months in prison for sexually abusing a young girl and using social media to sexually exploit another child.

Green was first reported to police in August 2022 after a seven-year-old girl disclosed that he had repeatedly sexually assaulted her since March of that year. Northamptonshire Police's Child Abuse Investigation Unit (CAIU) initiated an investigation, leading to Green's arrest and charges for sexual assault of a girl under 13.

While awaiting trial, police received another report in February 2023 about Green's online activity. A parent discovered over 200 messages from Green on their nine-year-old child's Facebook Messenger account. This led to additional charges against Green for engaging in sexual communication with a child and inciting sexual activity.

Green pleaded guilty to all charges in March 2023. He was remanded in custody until sentencing on August 9, 2023, where he was sentenced to 27 months' imprisonment.

In addition to prison time, Green was placed on the sex offenders' register for 10 years and is subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. This order restricts his contact with females under 16 and his use of internet-enabled devices without notifying his offender management team.

Detective Constable Emily Faulkner and Detective Constable James Wright of CAIU stated that Green is a serial offender who showed a complete disregard for the victims and his bail conditions. They emphasized Green's lack of remorse and the serious impact his actions had on the children and their families.

The CAIU expressed their appreciation for the bravery of the victims and their families in coming forward and supporting the investigation. They reiterated that Northamptonshire Police takes all forms of child abuse seriously and will pursue the strongest penalties against offenders.
