Winsford Man Jailed for Child Sex Offenses

A WINSFORD man has been jailed for four years after admitting having sex with a child and making indecent images of children.

Liam Martin, 25, of Kingsway, Winsford, pleaded guilty at Chester Crown Court to five counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child under 16 in 2011 and making indecent images of children.

In a separate incident, Martin's phone was checked by police officers as part of his release conditions for a previous conviction for a child sex offense. The check uncovered a total of 271 category C images of children.

DC Dave Walton said: "Martin tried to make the girl feel like they were in a relationship, but in reality he was using her for his own sexual gratification. Her bravery in coming forward means that Martin is now behind bars."
