Bar Manager Jailed for Attempting to Persuade 13-Year-Old Girl to Model for Sex

A bar manager, Link Robinson, has been sentenced to three years in prison after admitting to attempting to persuade a 13-year-old girl to model for him and offering her money for sex. Robinson, a convicted paedophile, was already subject to a sexual harm prevention order due to previous convictions for possessing and distributing indecent images of children.

The incident occurred on September 23, 2022, when Robinson, using the online alias "Model Scout," engaged in a conversation with "Izzy," a profile created by an undercover police officer, in an online chat room. Izzy's profile clearly indicated that she was a schoolgirl, and Robinson asked her why she wasn't in school and offered her money to model for him at his apartment in Bolton.

During the conversation, Izzy, posing as the 13-year-old girl, informed Robinson that she was a virgin. The conversation quickly took a sexual turn, with Robinson sending her images of male genitalia, encouraging her to engage in sexual activity, and offering to pay her £150 if she would model for him and have sex.

Robinson also contacted Izzy using the Kik Messenger alias "AdiBoy87," encouraging her to send him pictures of herself. He became angry when he realized the pictures she used were from a Russian Instagram account and accused her of being fake.

Police traced Robinson's IP address to his home and arrested him on January 14, 2023. Initially, he denied being in contact with Izzy but later admitted to using various chat rooms.

Robinson, who has also used the aliases Carl Robinson and Cark Robinson, admitted to changing his name by deed poll following his previous conviction.

While acknowledging the seriousness of the offenses, Robinson expressed remorse for his actions and stated his confidence in not re-offending after serving his sentence.

Sentencing Robinson, Recorder Andrew Long stated that it was clear Robinson had a sexual interest in children.

Robinson was issued with a lifetime sexual harm prevention order.
