Luke Ford Jailed for 16 Years For Sex Attacks

A 35-year-old man, Luke Ford, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for a string of violent and sexual assaults against multiple women.

Ford was convicted at the High Court in Glasgow on multiple offences including rape, attempted rape, assault, and possession of extreme sexual abuse images. This case marks the first conviction of "stealthing" in Scotland, where Ford deceived women by claiming to use condoms during sex while actually not doing so.

Police initially became aware of Ford's crimes in June 2020 following a report of assault in Edinburgh. An investigation led officers to uncover a pattern of abuse against several women spanning an extended period. Ford was arrested and charged in February 2021, ultimately leading to his conviction in May 2023.

Detective Inspector Steven Gray stated, "Ford is a dangerous and manipulative sexual predator. I want to commend the bravery of the victims who came forward, as their testimonies were crucial in securing his conviction. I hope this outcome provides some measure of justice and allows them to continue healing and moving forward with their lives."
