British Man Jailed for Attempted Child Abuse

A British man has been sentenced to five years in prison for attempting to arrange for a child to be abused online.

Mark Luscombe, 29, of Verwood, Dorset, contacted a US Homeland Security officer posing as a paedophile. He offered to send the officer indecent images of children in exchange for watching a girl being abused via webcam.

Luscombe pleaded guilty to 16 sexual offences at Bournemouth Crown Court.

Upon his arrest in December, police found over 150 indecent images of children on Luscombe's computer. During questioning, he admitted to being "wired differently."

Matthew J Etre, an attache for US Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in London, stated: "Protecting children from exploitation is a top priority, and this case highlights the necessity of international collaboration to combat this crime."

Luscombe previously pleaded guilty to various charges, including sexual activity with a child, arranging/facilitating child sex offences, making/distributing indecent images of children, and possessing an extreme pornographic image.
