Man Jailed for Rape and Sexual Assault in Ellesmere Port

Max Dufley, 34, of Eaton Road, West Kirby, was sentenced to six years in prison at Chester Crown Court on Tuesday, January 16th. Dufley was found guilty of one count of rape and one count of sexual assault by penetration.

The investigation began on June 18th, 2021, after a woman reported to police that she had been raped by Dufley in May 2021. The victim stated that she awoke to find Dufley sexually assaulting her before he raped her.

Following a thorough investigation, Dufley was charged with the offenses in August 2022. He initially denied the charges but was found guilty on October 5th after a four-day trial.

In addition to his prison sentence, Dufley is subject to a restraining order, a sexual harm prevention order, and must register as a sex offender.
