Convicted sex offender caught by paedophile hunters
Morgan Green, 48, was caught by paedophile hunters after engaging in sexually explicit conversations with two adult decoys posing as teenage girls. Green, who has a previous conviction for attempted sexual communication with a child, was sentenced to an extended sentence of 10 years and four months at Norwich Crown Court on Monday.
The court heard that Green, who has an "obsession with underwear," had been asking one of the decoys for pictures of her "in her panties." He also encouraged the other decoy to commit a sexual act upon herself.
Judge Andrew Shaw described Green as a "dangerous" offender who posed a "significant risk of serious harm" to children. He said: "People like you don't just happen upon these sites, you go looking for them."
Green's defense attorney, Cathy McCulloch, argued that her client was a "father of three" with a "self-destruct button" who was "just so grateful they weren't real children." She also stated that Green was "very upset" and "very sorry" for his actions.
In addition to the extended sentence, Green was also placed on the sex offenders register for life and subjected to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
